no, tint just sticks over the rear window. Just bring your car to a fairly reputable place that wont cut it while trying to fit it on your window. I'd be more worried about the defrost lines but i've never heard of anyone having this problem ever by installing tint. And i have my '02 camry tinted and I tinted my mom's '05 camry, no probs.

it depends on the tint. Tints with a heavy metalic content may affect your radio reception, mostly in the AM band. If you are worried about it at all get a "color balanced" tint from 3M (ask the installer if he has it). It has no metal in it and also comes with a lifetime bubbling and fading guarentee, thats what i got, and it looks nice. It did cost about $100 more though.

Anyone have a problem with headlights from other vehicles appearing blurred when viewed from the rear window after getting the rear window tinted? Its an odd problem I'm having with my tint. I might just need to clean it off.

that doesn't sound like a problem unless it makes it so you can't see out the back of your window.
it may be from slight bubbling or somekind or an uneven application of the tint.

Guys I have a question it relates to tint so I guess I will post it here. If you are getting you tint darker than legally allowed do you still get a warranty? And also do you have to pay them cash or do you just not get a receipt? Sorry but this is the first time I'm going to get a car tinted and I just wondered if I could get some advice.

^You can get your car tinted any darkness you want. Its not illegal for them to sell dark tint, its illegal for you to drive with it. Therefore, they will give you a receipt, you will get a warranty, and you can pay however you want. But if you get pulled over and ticketed, they won't remove it for free or under warranty or anything. Warranty only covers damage.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Well basically like everyone stated...if its done by a reputable shop, then there should be no problems. The only problem i see, is removing the previous tint in the rear. As far as reception, i've been hearing so many differnt combinations of problems...but the two that i narrowed it down to was, lack of reception in the AM band, where as some have gone to the extreme saying lack of reception on any band....
I currently have madico charcoal tint(35%front, 15% rear) with which i am not happy with. I am going to get it re-tinted tomorrw with llumar ATR(whic is a metallic tint)with something around the 20% range all around(except front winshield). So i'll post some pics whenever i can

INCORRECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never tell someone what the legality of another state is. Some states CAN, DO and WILL hold the shop responsible for tinting outside the legal limits. State laws vary greatly on just about everything you can think of.

For this, some shops will ask that you pay cash and won't get a receipt for the work done. That doesn't mean though that your state can hold them responsible it may just mean they don't want to pay income tax on the money and will try to make you believe they can get in trouble for doing the work.

I just had my car tinted with Llumar which has the metal. The guy told me that I may have some problem with AM. He said it might have a little static possibily. He said FM would be ok. Here's what I found after the installation: The higher the frequency in the AM band, the more the probability of some interference (static). I listen to 1530 and it has some static now. It's not that noticable unless you turn the volume way up. The lower AM bands are ok. FM is perfect. The guy at the shop said that people with Nav, have had no problems.
