3rd Generation 3vz-fe problem

The story goes like this .. Not long time ago i bought 3vz-fe camry , previous owner had messed up its idle stop screw and tps.The original Idle stop screw*(throttlebody stop screw) is replaced. Now the problem is .. i cant adjust the damn tps sensor whithout setting screw to factory default.Anyone with 3vz-fe , could you just measure the lenght of the screw in millimeters , for a better understanding wtf im talking about i attached this image ..

In my 2VZ handbook, it specifies that to adjust this stop screw...have the throttle closed and screw it in until it just touches, perhaps only moving the throttle lever by 0.5mm or so.
Ive always wondered the point of this screw....what is it supposed to do. If you back off completely, IE take it out, the throttle still stops at around that point.. so whats it do?

Its touching the metal below it about 4-5 millimeters. .. well

the thing is , seems like you did measure it when engine running .. then ofcourse they are in contact , because the vacuum from intake draws one vacuum thingie and then the lower plate moves up (rpm will drop , idle mode) Thats why u cant just say hey it touches it really will not give me any info

when engine off there should be a gap between the lower plate and the screw .. and i could use exact length of the lower screw , cause anyone whos adjusted tps knows how damn accurate it must be

adjusting it involves putting 0,5 mm sheet between the screw and lower part at 0.3 mm we do 1 check and at 0.7 mm other one ..so its damn accurate ..

as for adjusting this screw like in 2vz ... i think its never meant for adjusting ..idle is ecu controlled , and idle bypass screw is on another location

so ,, with engine off .. just check it again (and real measurment would rock)

now as i have heard ..the stop screws one point is to stop the throttlebody's air flap movement arm from going too far up ..cause when you remove the screw .. the flap closes with a certain amount of force and lets the flap close too hard/too mutch pressure and it will rub channels inside your throtlebody ..so it should adjusted so that the throttleflap just barely closes and disables airflow

thanks so far tough ..

well i believe you .. cause i havt seen my system working yet .. the thing is .. when i set the screw like that (no gap) ..then the idle rpm is like 900/950 ... should be 700+-50... maybe the damn ecu takes it so long to learn (resetting ecu every time)..ill try it out , but for inurance could you just measure the screws' lower part too with feeler gauge or smthng ..

thnx
