hey guys,

i'm planning on buying the Tenzo Shu-4 rims. the trouble is, i can't find the right tire.

the specs of the rims are:
Size: 18x7.5
Off-Set: 42mm (what is off-set?)

i need a tire that also drives well in the snow. i really have no clue on tires/wheels so i hope some of you guys could give me some insight.

thanks alot

Is this for your Camry? The rims are for 4 bolts and Camry have 5 bolts.

Kamuri: Where in his Q. did you get the impression it was 4 bolt? Just wondering, but you are correct about the 5x114.3 bolt pattern.

Offset is this;

As for your tire selection, no performance tire will ever give you "good" winter performance. But then again, why in the world would you be driving fast in snow anyways? Get winter rubber if you can!

Initially I thought all Tenzo R rims are 4-bolts (they're for HonDuhs), but I did a quick search in Google to confirm that particular rim is for 4-bolts.

My friend, I think we need to educate you a little about 18" rims and tires on our Camry...#1 - be prepared your car will go SLOWER (yes...slower) then those who runs OEM 15" or 16".
#2, tires are expansive for 18" and NONE of them can drive on SNOW (trust me, in chicago, 2" of snow everyday is nothing, except this year and ,my 18" all season is in the garage)...
#3, you have to drive very slow to avold those pole holes cause you will get bent rims very easily...and each time it will cost you at least $50-$80 to fix bent rims...

Last, you can deal with all the above disadvantage and go for "ALL SHOW and NO GO"....here is your 18x7.5" spec....get like 45mm offset (42mmm is fine too)...225/40-18 (not 235) and you should be home safe.

The wheels on your car now has 5 bolts. Why then, would you think anything else will fit?

Further to what Rookie Solara has said, please do some research to see what this whole wheels thing is all about before you put down a few grand of your (or your parents') hard earned cash on it.

BTW, you will not find any 18" tire that will drive well in the snow. No such thing. Any tire for an 18" wheel and still be within the specs of our car has to be a 40 or 35 series tire, i.e. a low-profile performance tire.

We need to start making INFORMED decisions.
