Latest Navigation DVD Version?

I got my new '07 Camry Hybrid last week, and I just love it!

I have the JBL voice controlled naviagation system, which came with a version 5.1 DVD. But I have noticed a lot of out of date streets and businesses on it in my local area, but I can't seem to find what the latest version is anywhere on the web. Does anyone know where to look?

Thank you for your help,
Rob

since it's satelite connected then it shoujld update itself im not certain, but that's what i always thought. if not, then the version shouldn't matter, you probably just need to take it somewhere like dealer and have new locations just uploaded to the unit. hope that helps!

Hi Felkajamine,
My understanding is that all the data is on the map DVD. The only way to update is purchase one at a price of around $250. Since my car is only 1 week old, it should have come with the lastest version. But I can tell some things on the map in my local area are out of date, and if my DVD is obsolete, I'd like to pressure the dealer for a new one now, while I still have some leverage. My DVD version is 5.1.

I think the satellite is just used to track the position of the car for the nav system.

Edit: Updates are based on the DVD that you have. That is why it is DVD based. I'd pressure the dealer as well if I were you. Good luck.

$250 for a focking Nav DVD?!?!

They have got to be smoking some serious crack.

They just couldnt make it a free download and burn our own? or something reasonable like $20 for the DVD.

Yeah, that does suck. Those things are expensive. You can ebay it for less though.

The latest version is 6.1. It was put in most Camry's mfg'd after July. Toyota was in a hurry to get this vehicle on the market and put VERY old DVD's in the Nav systems of the early TC's. I spoke to customer server and they gave me very direct advice. POUND SAND. I'm starting a new thread to rally all TC owners to call Toyota.

Suggestion

Could you burn a copy?? Is it removable? Take a new Camry with Nav for a test drive and switch out the disk
