4th Generation Quick Question About Strut and Swaybars...

Sup guys...

So the thing is this..

I currently have an Arospeed Front Upper Strut bar... I recently got a Whiteline Rear Swaybar that I am going to install soon...

Could this upgrades be considered enough as for handling upgrades...??

Would getting a Whiteline Front Swaybar make another major difference in handling...??

The front swaybar is not a common upgrade, I wonder if there is a reason for that...

Thanks for the comments...

4th Generation

I know the rear one makes a huge difference. But f you want to make full use of your sway bars and strut tower bar, your car should be lowered.

Get the Tokicos if you're lowered, they handle it a little better than the GR2s, which are more stocklike.

I decided to go with the GR-2's because I read Tokico's offer a harsher ride and roads in my country are not the best...

the GR2's are a stiffer than stock ride. but not as stiff as the tokico's. although the tokico's are what will giveyou more performance.

our car's are front wheel drive...if you put a larger front sway on it, more than likely you will experience more understeer than you had before because your car will be more like a solid block and it wont want to turn. The whiteline rear made a difference to me and having the strut tower bar is good enough.

That's what I needed to know..

Thanks man...

I think I might still go with the GR-2's, although, thanks for the info...

I got my Arospeed Front Upper Strut bar from a local dealer in my country..

The Whiteline Rear Swaybar I got it from http://www.pdm-racing.com. I bought the last one in stock though...

That item is usually treated as a special order and it takes them about 12 weeks to ship because they bring the bar from Australia...

They had one front swaybar in stock also, but I didn't buy it because i was not sure if that one was worth it...

stiffer yes..but not by too much as the struts will make most of the ride difference while the springs usually just lower your car. Also if your struts are old they will probably blow faster if you have your car lowed on them due to the constant extra pressure. you can try the setup for a while but im sure you'll want to get new struts soon after. And if you love your car and plan to keep it for a long time, think about coilovers if you can afford them.

see the thing is mine r just flat out blown. the front ones make like hissing noises when i hit bumps and the back ones when i come off a speed bump it bounces like crazy. so would it help if i bought brand new stock springs and aftermarket struts? i dont really wanna lower it i just want a stiffer ride. i have a gen5 stock sway bar in the back but it made no difference so i want something better cuz my car handles horribly on turns.

toyota is known for a softer ride. anything OEM isnt going to give you a great handling capability.

Springs will last over 100K before they need replacing. Changing struts makes a huge difference. Perhaps you can go stick with your oem springs and get Tokios...that maybe a better choice for you. It's a waste of your money unless a pro says you need to change your springs if you're just gunna get oem ones again.
