lowering springs...alignment necessary?

I have some dropzone springs with a 1.8" drop. Will alignment be necessary after the drop? I got quoted for $389 for labor and 4 wheel alignment...is that a decent price?

By the way...if any one knows any professional suspension places in San Fernando Valley, CA...please let me know.

Thanks.

dunno if that's such a great price. I'm just saying this because on my 05 corolla S, I did it myself with a spring compressor. Then I went for the alignment professionally. wasn't too much. Just shop around. Haggle, Haggle, Haggle lol ONly way to get sh#t done when it comes to this kinda' stuff. Good luck, man.

Anytime the suspension is upgraded (lower car/new struts/shocks) you should get the alighnment. If you don't then the tires will get uneven wear plus the steering wheel will be vibrating along with the car pulling to one side as you drive. As for the price you mention I think that is a great $$. Usually the alighnment alone cost $70.

Yes it's necessary. I had my car dropped on Dropzones a few months back and got an alignment shortly after. I'm just pissed about the stupid uneven stance of the car due to the ginormious wheel gap in the front. I see coilovers in my future

So you guys think $389 is decent for labor and alignment? I think I will have to have front fenders rolled as well. Right now I have 18" rims with 225/40 tires on and I only get slight rubbing when I turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, otherwise the tires don't rub.

3rd Generation

I do all my own suspension work, and yes, for $389 for all the labor and alignment, that's a hella good price. It's not hard, just time consuming. Some tuner shops want like $600 - $800 for all of that. (and most can't do a proper alignment) Then again, I live in Hawaii, so everything is more expensive.

Btw, I have 18" Racing Hart C2's on 235x40x18 tires, and even with a 1.8 drop nothing rubs. (unless I have mass people in the car) If anything you should have your rear fenders rolled. Ask Milt, he got 19" rims on his gen3 with coilovers and only had to roll the rear fenders.

I'd say that's fair. I went to a place to see what they'd charge me and they wanted $500 just for the spring install. Said screw that and had my springs installed by a fellow TN'er for $50.

An alignment should be done after any suspension work. Even if its just removal of struts or something.

yeah for sure get it aligned. I think my install of springs, strut inserts and mounts and my rear sway bar without an alignment was like 400 bucks
