4th Generation Both "ABS" and "TRAC OFF" lights were flashing.

While I was driving last night, something strange happened. Both "ABS" and "TRAC OFF" lights were suddenly flashing. I pull over and stopped the engine, then restart it a minute after. Everything is fine after that.

What happened?

When they blink that means there is a problem with those systems, respectively. I'd say if it does it again, pull over, call your local Toyota dealership and ask them if you should have it towed. This can be a major safety issue if those systems aren't working...

But it does not happen again. Should I still have it inspected even if it never blinks again?

If it doesn't happen again I would have it inspected the next time you have the car serviced...

When i took my dash off and painted it, then put everything back those lights were flashing too. their control module thing is located on the passenger side to the right of the glove box. one of the wires in the harness decided to back off the harness a little bit so it took me a while to find it and fix it. after the wire went back it was fine.

this also happened to me when i started the car, put it in reverse real fast, stopped and left it running to heat up(had to get out of the way to bring the garbage out, it was snowy) when i came back in the car those lights were on so i turned it off and back on like you did and they went away.

When did that happen? Did it ever come on again? Did the ABS and traction control work during the snow?
