so today i was messing around with this 3 gears. i notice if i put the car on "L" and hit the gas and let drive till it hit 6,000 rpm then switching too "2" the car caught speed faster....is there a possibility of messing up my tranny for doing this???
from what ive heard it does put a LOT more pressure and wear on the tranny than downshifting with a manual. But if you start in L, and go through till D it should be fine, just more wear like if you floored it and just let it shift.

It puts more pressure on the tranny shifting up or shifting down... or both? I'm sure it would help your time in a 1/4 mile tho. I've messed around with that too.
it looks like it accelerates faster because your mind is busy by shifting gears and not focusing on the speed. Same thing as if you stare at the wall, or read this board, in which case time will go faster????
I don't know why it should accelerate faster if you shift it manual style.....
