4th Generation cost to change the suspension

Hi:

My rear tires are deformed every year, and I have to replace the new one every year.

Is that my suspension problem and need alignment as well?

How much does it cost to change a new suspension for 98 4 cylinders?

Thanks for any help and information..

Kdyj.....

Please describe the tire wear, or post a pic of the wear.

Suspension parts... I'd say at $600+ if you're looking to change struts, springs, and miscellaneous (strut mounts, boots, etc.), or you can spend over $1k-$2k on a coilover suspension. Labor... you can install yourself with a spring compressor from a hardware store, or pay someone ~$200-300 to install it for you (that's the high end for labor costs I think, if you go to some joe schmoe mechanic who wants to charge you up the arse). Alignment is usually ~$70-$80.

If your tires are messed up, get an alignment first. It's likely your suspension isn't the main factor. Also make sure that when you get new ones that they are properly balanced with the wheel.

Have suspesion checked when the alignment is being done. There may be conditions (damage and wear) that will not allow the alignment to be done properly.
