If the item is made from good stock, is machined really good, then it was last just as long if not longer than your OEM one. Also it depends on what you do to it, obvisously, if you abuse the damn thing it wont last as long.
Let me put it another way, all those moving parts in a Harrier or F-14 are aluminum. Thats why you hear manufactuers say it is aircraft grade and ramble off some numbers. And no the military are not always replaces parts, hell they haeva surplus of parts.
I have had a lighten crank pulley one my ES, as well as on all my cars including th Vitz (which by the way I use to race regularly 5 race per weekend and 2 races during the week), and never had any problems with it. And that is with pushing both the car and the engine to the limit.
BTW it is not just quicker raves that you gain, you also get more horsepower at the wheels. All in all you are getting more power throughout your RPM band, more hp and more torque.
Just to throw a little math at you and othres who do not understand why.
for every lb you shed at the crank you are gaining roughly 2.75 more ponies, not only that but the lighter crank pulley causes you to underdrive the rest of the pulleys and which also increases your power by taking back some of the power that the other accessories are robbing from ya.
