Question 5s-fe with mods

I have wrapped headers and a K+N filter on the standard rubber intake hose with the resonator removed and plugged. The problem is that the idle rpm bounces all over the place especially when cold and the throttle response is in about 3 stages or all or very slow Its not smooth at all
I still want to get a cold air intake and new plug wires HELP!!!

The wrap is really just to keep the heat out. It did make a difference after I put it on. The air sensor is in to rubber pipe that attaches to the throttle body.
The problem got worse when I opened up the exhaust to 2+half inch right through with two resonators and high flow muffler

ahhh a fellow Scepter owner...

wat kind of header wrap do u have...?? is it just to wrap it to prevent heat from dissipating to the engine bay?? also ur cold air intake may have an airflow meter attached to it when u removed the resonator.. try putting it back.. on my 5sfe the resonator is on the throttle body itself so i changed my whole pipe..... that is wat my best guess is....

Thanks 4 the reply

Here in N.Z we don`nt have strict emission controls so it has no cat in the exhaust either. Sounds good without being "boy racer" loud. Cheers.
