New (to me) Camry issues.

So I picked up the car on Sunday:

1992 Camry LE, I4
178,000 km

Of course there are minor dents, dings, scratches, etc. on the car.

Of course now I have to move my SKYFi XM Radio from the old car to the new car.

"Pro Fit International" has a custom mounting bracket for the car for a mere $40 USD, plus shipping, border fees, etc.

Pro Fit Bracket Details:
http://www.pro-fit-intl.com/Adobe/TY-50-92.pdf

Of course, looking at the bracket, I figure I can probably make my own for less than the $$ they want. So I'll be heading out to Canadian Tire later today to see what they have for me.

If anyone has any tips on building a bracket I'd be open to suggestions.

Maybe there was some misunderstanding.

I'll be putting in a Pioneer deck later. Simple install.

However I ALSO have an XM Radio Receiver (see attached picture).

So I'll need a separate mounting bracket.

I've picked up some sheet metal from Canadian Tire and will be cutting it soon with pictures to come.

Fresco

they now have a new style along with the traditional deck style. From the looks of the pic he provided it looks like he has or is getting the new one by Delphi. He can take this out of his car and listen to it anywhere. As long as he has the proper stuff

Ice5

Instead of making a bracket, Delphi makes them especially for this model. There is a hole car kits where you can hook-up the cradle and mounting bracket to your existing radio and either run it from a tape player adapter (like those used for personal cd players) or you can hook it striaght up to your systems aux input.

The pro-fit one if you ask me looks like a piece of sh*t, I would shell out the xtra bucks and pick up the one by Delphi, which comes with a cradle (house the power and signal connectors), mounting bracket (self adhesive backing w/ strip and baller joints), roof-mount antenna, cassette adapter, and power adapater

If I was you I would shop around cause your XM can fit in other brandsof brackets too, but your best bet is the Delphi one.

I have 20 in stock and one of my guys just installed one the other day, its just like hooking up an amp or gaming system.

Yeah. I do have the "car adapter kit."

However the self adhesive mounting bracket was used in the old car.

I've made a mock-up bracket using light gauge aluminum. I'm really happy with it.

I'll be taking that to a friends place and copy the design with a heavier gauge steel.
