Wiper Problem

I have a 1992 Camry LE. I just bought it, and the guy told me, that wipers are not working. Infact the motor is working, but the wiper rod is not connected to motor.

I need one clip I guess. Can you guys tell me exactly what size and what kind of clip do I need? (It might be a C clip)

I would try the dealer for that part, if there is one near you. It can't be very expensive and you know you will get the right part. You would probably waste more gas and time in chasing around to hardware stores or home centers to look for the right clip, than it would be worth.

Make sure the car is Off when you try and fix it. The wiper motor drive is quite strong. And it has to finish the cycle before stopping.

I remember a news article for a student at my old highschool that got his hand crunched... I do not know why but I am guessing it was the 1 wiper mod.

the easiest way to find out exctly what you need is by taking off the plastic covers and taking a look at the linkage- it may not be just a clip either, but sticky linkage, or broken linkage

take a look and then either visit your dealer for something small, or for something big, go to a junk yard

Yes, I exactly know what is the problem. It was broken linkage. Infact, there was a spare linkage found in my trunk.
The problem I am getting now is, how to remove the link and insert the new one in it. I unfastenned all the screws already, but it is not comming out of service hole.
Please note that I would be doing it alone without help. Please tell me if you know any tricks.
