3rd Generation Gear problem

Hello
I have a 96 V6 Camry and it has a small problem,
When every I change the gear from Park to Drvive: I feel that the engine is moving and makes a loud sound. Basicly when i change the gear from P to D the engine jumps but when i am driving in the street and the gears change automatically i don't feel anything it's fine.

I had a mechanic look in to it and he said it's tansmission problem and would cost about 1G, i don't have that kind of money to spend on a car right now.

Can this problem be a engine support???

Yes.

The engine does move, but it shouldn't move excessively.

You can check it out, but you need someone else to shift through the gears or look at the engine.

1. Start the car.

2. With your foot on the brake, move the shifter from P to R or whatever. While your doing that have someone look at the engine and notice how much it moves.

Also check the mounts themselves for cracks, missing chunks, etc..
