Can the fuse get blown just because of age and worn?

People usually replace fuse when it's blown, but will the fuse blow out just because of age and worn?

they can but it is not very common. I have a 12 year old car and the very few times I have blown a fuse was because I touched something I wasnt supposed to.

It is just like a light bulb except witha much larger filament in it. so wearing is not nearly as common as a short inthe system.

yes thefuse can blow for no apparent reason. It passes voltage just like wiring does and unlike wiring, it is actually designed and intended to fail. So my rule of thumb is, change it once, if it blows again soon after you know you have a problem.
