hey Guru's. can it be done?

hey guys, I got a 1999 Camry and what bothers the hell out of is that it has no compass in it. I dont want to buy a cheap crap you mount on the windshield. I am wondering if I can get one from a junkyard that as it built in its rear view mirror. Does any toyota models come like that?? My mothers blazer has it and I love it.

thanks
Ralph

Just pick up and aftermarket one for 150 bucks. Other ones will fit but you will have to figure out how to wire it.

Search on eBay for toyota compass, Gentex compass, and Donnelly compass.

Gentex supplies GM with electronic mirrors. Donnelly does/might have/did supply GM as well. Gentex is popular here in the US, while Donnelly is more popular in Europe.

There are a couple auto dimming with compass ones "for Toyota" on eBay right now for a good price. If you do get a used one, make sure to get the wiring harness with like at least 6-12 inches of wiring, if the harness is cut.
