pushrod doesn't seem to return.

after I rebuilt the slave cylinder with new piston and spring, the pushrod doesn't seem to return back when I pushes it in. ( this is with the cylinder installed and fluid in it, usually it should slowly comes out )
Don't know why, could the spring have slipped off of the piston?
Clutch otherwise operated like it should.

air in the system still?

Probably. If you let all the fluid run out of the line while the slave was off the car it takes quite a bit of bleeding to get all the air out. I recommend the 2 person method for bleeding. It actually goes much faster.

um... most likely then, there might be a bubble somewhere on a vertical section of the tubing, so the fluid is not running down/or fast enough.

I actually didn't run the whole system dry. I pushed the pedal half way in and used a bar to keep it there, this way it's a closed system with only opening being where it connects to the slave cylinder, and since the opening is so small it actually works.

We bleed untill there's no bubbles coming out of the bottom bleeder, then pushed the rod in a few times, and there were bubbled coming out of the top cup.

Hopefully it's not the spring inside, although, it shouldn't be, because if it's twisted, it should still have resistance, just not all the way up. but now when it bottoms, it kinda just stays there. Untill I push the pedal in and pull it out by hand.

You never said why you rebuilt the slave in the first place. I'm assuming it was just leaking fluid. I would bleed it again. If that doesn't help, you will have to remove the slave again and recheck your work. Then, reinstall and rebleed thoroughly. If that doesn't help the problem, then you may have to look at the master. When they start to leak externally, the fluid runs down the passenger compartment side of the firewall, under the carpet. Pull up the carpet under the pedals and look for fluid there. If no fluid is found there, you just may have to buy a new slave and install that.

These kinds of problems are why most professional techs I know just replace both the slave and the master whenever the customer has a problem with either. It usually runs the customer about $300, but this shotgun approach cures the problem. Besides, the general thinking is if one of the two hydraulic components goes, the other is likely to be not too far behind. It's usually old contaiminated fluid that causes one of the components to go out. The same fluid effects both hydraulics units.

Good luck and let me know how it works out.

oh it wasn't really leaking.
I got this "sticking" feel when I lift up my clutch pedal, and the slave cylinder squeaks once in a while, I thought it might have been the piston draging along the bore, that's why I rebuilt it ( was gonna replace it, but the part didn't fit right )

I will bleed again and see what happend.
