Ordered a new V6 Camry, wondering about the 3.5.....Is it a new engine, or a more displacement of the previous V6....

im pretty sure its just a whole new engine design... with a WHOPPING 268hp!!!!

This is the same engine usd in the 2005 AVALON (rated at 280HP with old SAE standard). it is a 2GR-FE engine, also used on the Lexus ES (rated at 272 with premium fuel) and in Lexus IS350 rated at 305HP with a direct injection system, I belive they call it 2GR-FES on the IS.

Pretty nice engine.

When the Avalon listed 280 hp. They had no standards then. That was the power with premium fuel grade.

The 20% less parts was referring to the new automatic 6 speed transmission and not the engine.
