3rd Generation 3vz-fe

Another thread got me to thinking about this engine. I may be picking up a 93 SE 3VZ 5spd, and was wondering how this one stands up to boost. I know there is TONS of info on the 5SFE but I haven't seen much on the V6's. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

A well cared for 3vz-fe bottom end is good for over 300bhp, on a great setup with a tune to match 360+ is not out of the question.

If I get this I'll prolly buy a rebuildable core (I work in a salvage yard) to build up then drop it in when I'm done

those engines are notorious for being over-built, plus they have a lower compression ratio than the 1mz's which handle the boost better.

there's already a couple of dudes who have boosted 3vz's.

As for the tranny - pretty sure it's good for whatever you need to do with it, upwards of 350 ish hp.

I own an SE - what a gem
