I had a guy tell me it works, but I figure if it worked all that well and was that simple, car manufacturers would already have them in the car.... save your money.

ryan

here is a website the checkout though http://www.vortexvalve.com/installs/camry1998/

that thing is junk... i've seen the infomercials where they claim it gives you 20 hp or something. save your money and go buy your car something nice like a car wash and detail. also if one of those little fan blade things on that breaks off, say good bye to your engine

My question is this.

If they offer these 30 day guarantees, why do people keep them?

It's difficult to verify a HP increase, but a mileage increase is easy to prove/disprove?

How stupid are people? (Yes, I know, some people are very stupid)

I'm not sure about this particular model, but I have seen similar products with some gain on the Dynos. Its just like a different type of forced induction. Granted I've never heard anything about this particular product, But I have heard that throttle body spacers give some gains, but not very significant.

ummmm...... no

adding restriction along your intake path does not lead to positive manifold pressure. forced induction comes to be by ram air (barely even), supercharger (eaton, roots, centrifugal), turbo, and there are a few cheap electric impellers that run off the battery.

this product does exactly what it intends to do: confuse and excite people enough that they buy it.

LESSON LEARNED: when an engine recieves less air, it throws less fuel into the mix resulting in higher gas mileage (and decreased performance). the only gain is due to a loss

the throttle body spacers might be a different story, but thats kind of unrelated to this product.

Well I thought thats kinda what this was. If its not like a TB spacer, then I dont know what it is or what its possibilities are. but from the looks of this thread that wud be nothing!

Heh It *may* save you gas if it causes enough of a restriction because it will actually act as a governor and restrict the amount of air and therefore gas at full throttle. So if you have a heavy foot you could see savings. Think of driving with a 1/4 block attached to the bottom of your gas pedal. Wonderful yup gotta get one ...NOT
