Unknown fluid reservoir?

So yesterday I got into an accident which involved shattering my driver's side, side light, cracking part of the front bumper, damage to my driver's side fender, and it caused a fluid reservoir to drop down onto the underside lip of my bumper. I have no clue what it is, according to the manual the only fluid reservoir on that side is my brake fluid, but i dont think it is that due to the fact that it is right under my front lights and when i opened the hood the brake fluid reservoir seems to be fine.

Any thoughts on what it is?

Also would buying a front bumper, fender, and side light for 240 off of http://www.usedpartslive.com/ and then getting them painted seperately and installed be cheaper than a full repair?

Last time this car was in an accident which was when some girl backed into my passenger side, cracking the bumper and damaging the back fender, it costed be about 2.5k to fix.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Does the car have A/C. If so, this could be the receiver dryer for the A/C. This part is located below and forward of the battery. It is an aluminum cylinder about 9in long by 2in dia.

If the A/C system was breached, Freon will leak out and your A/C system will no longer work. There should be a low pressure switch in the A/C system, as such the compressor clutch will not operate to prevent damage.

im pretty sure it is not an aluminum cylinder, at first i thought it was washer fluid too but in my manual for both engine models, the 5S-FE and 1MZ-FE which are the only 2 listed in the manual both have the washer fluid located on the passenger side. I dont know if my engine is a different version and for some reason is not located in the manual, but i will go check again and see if i can take a picture of it. (maybe just that the manual is made for the v4 and that the v6's just arent included). Does anyone have a v6 manual online?

If it is the fluid tank, would trying the windshield wiper spray be harmful if that was the part disconnected?

edit: ok so i just checked again and i dont think it is the ac because the reservoir is a large plastic clear/whiteish little bin

ill try to see if i can find a camera to give you guys a better idea

but so far nothing has leaked from it as far as i can tell

ok im pretty sure it is the washer fluid tank, my engine compartment must be different from those in the manual because it is similar to these http://images.google.com/images?svnu...ry&btnG=Search

Are you sure it was a fluid reservior ie was there fluid in there. If it is what I think it is, it is thre resonator. No harm done then as it is not needed.

That cannister is not for fluid, it's an air resonator that hooks up to the air intake of you air cleaner box. It looks like it would be for a fluid but it's only for accoustics to drown out the intake roar. Even professional body men make that mistake so don't feel bad.
