transmission slipping ?

I have 06 solara with 5 speed auto and 2AZ-FE. Since the drivetrain is the same with gen 5.5 and 6 camry, I think solara should perform similar to camry.
I just noticed today that the transmission seems to be slightly slipping (5K miles on my car) when shifting gears. The tach revs up slightly like around 50-100 rpm when its doing gear shifts and you can't feel it is slipping (feels normal). If you really pay attetion to the tachometer, you will notice this especially if you drive really slow (try to make it shifts around 1700 rpm). With load, it shifts really quick, no slip. I'm just wandering if it is normal for this transmission or its just my car transmission is bad. Thanks...

You have a brand new car dude, it's probably normal. If you still feel like your car shouldn't be doing that, take it to the dealer and ask them directly I guess.

found the similar tread in avalon forum, I think it should be normal since lots of people driving current generation avalon notice this.

Thats what happens on my 04 4cly. On mine, it is noticable on slow acceleration, but on hard acceleration, it is very crisp.
