Just what area is bent on the manifold, the flange? Is the exhaust pipe flange bottoming out on the manifold flange? Are you sure you have bolted the joint closed as much it can go. The nuts can extremely hard to turn and there is always the concern of breaking a stud. Use a torque wrench where you can. It only takes a small gap in the joint to make a lot of exhaust noise.
You could also try to shim up the gasket (donut) by placing something behind it on the exhaust pipe side. In a pinch, I used to wrap stainless steel wire around the exhaust flange behind where the gasket goes. If you could find steel shims, this would work even better. The shimming material forces the gasket into the manifold flange when you tighten the joint.
I thought the manifold parts were made out of cast iron. This will take a little skill to repair the manifold without damaging it, but it can be done. Don’t just hammer away or you will break it.
