Gen1 code 11

ok guys, i got an 85 2se auto at work with a code 11, 11 blinks, nothing in mitchell or alldata that i can find and its rich, and runs like crap, it finally lost its spark and i came home, i think the igniter went out because the negative coil post no longer blinks on cranking. This car has almost 300k miles on it but it is spotless inside and out with no dents or rust. I did the usual checks for the running problem but came up empty, even tried my mass air on it

In my manual, code 11 is "ECU Power Supply"

-Ignition Circuit
-Main Relay/Circuit
-ECU

Not sure if it applies to 85...i didnt even know they had OBD compliant ecu's in 85!

1985 Camry has different code system then 87-on.
Code 11 means TP sensor off idle, A/C switch on, or neutral start switch out of adjustment.
Most likely, you need to check and adjust idle contacts on TP sensor.
Lost of spark is a different issue.

ok, i found the spark problem, broken wire by igniter, but the warmer it gets the richer it runs and finally loads up, it runs great when you cold start it for a minute, then it gets rich, i ohm checked the coolant sensor and its ok, i think the ECU is history, i also unplugged the cold start injector but still loads up

Check connectors and air flow meter. It controls a fuel mixture based on intake air temp. and turns the fuel pump after engine starts.

I think i blew the mass air meter test i did with the one off my 88, the parts store says their a different part number, i do realize that it controls the pump also, so it might be the next step

Most common problems with AFM is the separation of connector terminals from the circuit board inside AFM, located below the black plastic cover. Such separation is hard to detect, but once I managed to repair one by soldering.

As I mentioned above, there is an air thermo sensor located in AFM. Measure its resistance and compare it to specifications. Unplugging TPS will not lean out the mixture. Double check connectors on coolant thermosensor. You also may remove it, heat it up in a water similar to thermostat testing with the ohm-meter attached to it and note how its resistance changes. Finally, you also need to chek O2 sensor feedback voltage and conditon. For more info. about these issues refer to Autoshop101.com technical articles by K.Sullivan, Fuel delivery and injection control.

ok doc, im going in tomorrow, ive been out since friday, the guys tried a mass air and a ecu, lets get our ducks in a row here, the car blinks eleven times in a row, not 2 blinks, and this code sets as soon as you key it. We have mitchell at work and its a real POS, I need to find out what wire on it is b+ and where it goes if this is the right code meaning for the 85, I have a bag of relays i want to try and a multimeter to see if the voltages are right, but no diagrams

Check Autozone.com repair info, there should be on-line diagrams for 85 Camry.
