Tune-up Question

Over the weekend, I decided to give my gen2 camry a tune up because she began idling rough. It tunrs out the insulation on the wires was worn. I ended up changing the distributor cap, rotor, and the front three wires. I was only able to change the front three because the back three are buried. Needless to say, I did not swap out the plugs because I want to do them all, not half.

How are you supposed to get back there? It looks like the only way would be to remove the intake... this seems like a lot of work just to change plugs and wires. On the same note, even removing the distributor cap and rotor was difficult because they're in the back, buried under the air intake.

Having never done a tune-up on my camry before, I'm a little disappointed in Toyota. It's not that big of a motor and it's a big space under the hood, but somehow they've made this difficult.

The rough idling is gone already, I'm sure it was the front wires. I can only imagine what the ones in the back look like...

Any help is greatly appreciated. I don't like taking my car to a shop but I just might have to

Thanks in advance.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've never done a tune up either, so I wouldn't be able to give you an answer. I've heard of cars with 6's where you had to unmount the rear of the engine and tip it out just to get at the back plugs. I'm sure thats not the case with this, but my main idea is what you said, take out the intake.

Well, I had my buddy look at it, and he said the same thing, that he'd had cars before that the motor would tilt out if you unbolted a motor mount... but it doesn't look like that's an option here, and if it is I doubt I'd be able to get at it.

I'm just gonna end up taking somewhere I think
