Sell it in the dead of winter! Seriously, can you get enough extra for it to pay for the fix or will it cost you? That's sometimes a tough question.

Did they tell you what exactly is wrong with it. My A/C compressor died on my 82 celica. I bought a new rebuilt compressor & reciever dryer for $200. I took the car to a shop and they evacuated the A/C system for free. I replaced both parts, bought R134 conversion valves for $10 and installed them. Then I took the car back to the shop and had the system recharged for $75. New A/C system for under $300.

Find out exactly what is wrong the A/C. I trust it is more then just a recharge with Freon. Find out what the car is worth with everything working. You might be able to just knock off the cost repairs to the A/C from this price (keep the estimate). Who knows, maybe the buyer can fix it themselves and think they got a deal. It is to bad greed ruined it for everyone over there.
