i spotted a gen3 in the opening scenes of stupid and reckless 3, tokyo drift. it was in sky blue and out of focus, but still looked great in a rolling shot.

dumb asses
I figured I would hang around the theatre parking lot and watch people screw around... I knew they would.
there was one good normal drag a mk3 supra vs a Mitsubishi 3000GT (non VR4)
buth this dumb ass in his parents PT Cruiser, he was only 16 , e- braking around the lamp posts, he made it around a few times before he overcorrected and smashed head on into the concrete barrier around the lamp post. I'm pretty sure it was totalled...
Everyone was ok but its still funny to see how stupid he was.. his car had 5 people in it including himself.
That's sad. Is it even possible to really drift in a front drive car? I know you can do some rally type tail sliding turns, but when I think of drifting, the rears have to be smokin lol.
ohh my god my prediction came true there so many dumbasses who are going to be crashing now thanks alot not so fast and no fury now you just killed another fine sport drifting whats next rally lol
I can see it for free if I want. Is it even worth my time?
What about 2?
Well, I went to see the movie last night with few of my friends. YEAH, I spent my precious 8 bucks! We just wanted to see what they came up with in Tokyo Drift. It was actually pretty good movie. It had different feel to it, had a decent plot, and good action, it was more realistic than the first two sequals, had nice cars, etc. It comes down how you react to the movie. If you're not mature enough and don't think with your head before youdo something, then of course you'll probably start 'drifting' around the light poles lol, but if you're not one those dumbasses, you just calmly drive home like I did. (I've seen an accident on the way home from the theather, there was so much rice in the parking lot, I felt like in the China Buffet!) After all, it's just a movie, it's supposed to be unreal. If it was reall, it would be more of a documentary, which is not a bad idea either.
So go see the movie, specially if it's free. You'll like it.

"Drive it like you stole it"
I've been to a couple Formula D events in Atlanta, and they are a blast to watch. If people are interested in it, they should find a place to do it safely, on the track. On the street, you're asking for trouble. Even the pros lose it, so a kid in his mother's FWD is a recipe for trouble.
After the Formula D events, you ALWAYS see a bunch of kids putting up plumes of smoke from their cars as they leave. The announcer always says "Yeah, keep it on the tracks, the cops are outside events like these..." But nobody listens.
Drifting in a FWD car is... well... not completely drifting IMHO. Yeah, you can make a FWD car oversteer, but mostly through e-braking or lift-throttle oversteer. A great example is from the previous generation Maxima commercials where the car was sliding through the desert putting up plumes of dust (coincidentally, the stunt driver in that ad was Rhys Millen--Rod Millen's son--who is now a top driver in Formula D). But the sweetest of drifting is power-on oversteer as the driver cooks the rear tires. You're not going to find that with FWD, obviously.
If I had a few million dollars (or more) I'd enjoy a project to convert a Gen 3 Camry into RWD. Yeah, it'd be a waste of money, and the results might not be great, but I could brag about having a rare Camry, right?
I will end up seeing the movie, honestly Im sure a lot of people will. If nothing else it is fun to laugh about. Watch it as a comedy, for entertainmet whatever, drifting is all about entertainment not being fast. I have been ebraking my fwd cars around for years in back lots and back roads I always will too. I dont think its really drifting but whatever you call it its fun. My car is my own and when I break it I fix it so no mommys car comments please anyways I also look forward to the slew of dumbasses that will invariably materialize railing grocery getters into lightpoles and such.
I went to see it last night. I didn't think it was going to be that great of a movie since I've seen the first two but this was actually pretty good. There were some very beautiful cars there and the chicks there were hot especially the main chick. I'm still mad that in the beginning they let him destroy the car that I've idolized since 7th grade, the Nissan S15 Silvia.
