3rd Generation One question after replace distributor O-ring

The engine oil leaks from the O-ring. The higher speed the more leak. This morning I replaced the distributor O-ring. I marked the outer house for reinstallation. But when I took off the distributor, old O-ring and installed new one, I messed up the angle of the shaft. Then I just turned the shaft to fit the inner groove, and the engine now works fine.

My question is if it is possible that the shaft could have been turned 180 degree and still can be insert and work but I cannot tell the difference? Thanks in advance!

It's in there right as the dissy wouldn't fit in if you had it 180 degrees out.

The slot in the cam end and the 2 teeth on the dissy WONT line up.

Cheerz.
