4th Generation Is it easy to clean the throttle (the butterfly valve) ourselves?

Is it easy to clean the throttle (the butterfly valve) ourselves? Mine is a 2000 GEN4 Camry V6. On my old Jetta, all I need is unscrew some screws, very easy.

Pull off air cleaner hose to get access to the front.

The body is held on by 4 bolts (or two bolts and two nuts). You will need to remove the throttle and accelerator cables plus a few small hoses, wire plugs, etc.

It is fairly easy and it can be done with the throttle body still on the car. There is a link somewhere on this site with good instructions and pictures. Do a search for "throttle body cleaning".

If it isn't too bad, just get some throttle body cleaner, take off your air hose and spray it all in there, actuate the butterfly by hand to get both sides.

Any results? How is your car now? I was thinking about cleaning mine as well. What did you use to clean it?
