Bye Bye Camry.

Welp, its been quite a haul. My 92 Camry LE has gotten me through the majority of college. She now carries 185K miles on her and havent had any major problems. Just a few electrical issues(ie. the interior lights only comes on with the driver door, none of the passenger doors). and theres a short somewhere with the alarm system whenever it rains hard and for a long period of time.
I bought her at 127K miles, and here she is 58K miles later(in 3 years).

and here's her replacement, 03 Accord EX with 40K miles $16k(with extended warranty & lojack)

oh and i already gave her the first mod, 9005 Silverstars conversion

The i4 160hp motor is superior(along with the 5speed auto trans) to that of the i4 in the camry. and the handling is so much better, its both tight yet gracefully smoother over bumps and around turns.

I want to thank you guys(and girls) as well as everyone else involved with the Toyota Nation community. I have learned quite a bit of knowledge over these past few years from here. This is one of the most popular car communities on the internet and I'm privileged to be a part of it.

The Camry will be sold to my fathers business and will be used for deliveries/long drives to clients far away(to which i am also an employee, so ill still be driving her from time to time).

I'll still be around, once a TN member, always a TN member

Nice upgrade. I kinda wanna get rid of mine too...I just love the CB7 (1990-1993) body style Accord's. I'd like to get a cheap 5-speed and learn stick on it.

A friend of mine said the tail lights on those looked like old caddy lights lol. I like the 06 ones much better. Why didn't they make them look like the coupe ones? Those are tight.

yeah im kinda neutral with the 06 taillights of the accord.. most people i talk to dont like them. but to each their own..

ive already started my compilation of mods after reading up on this engine through the accord forums.. apparently, these i4's are the same ones in the TSX, so the intake manifolds are a direct swap(TSX IM's are bigger, as well some other changes, hence why they output 200hp)

The TSX is to the Accord as the ES300 is to the Camry. They're similar.

My "TO DO" list for the Accord:

Performance:
TSX Intake manifold(direct bolt on)
Stainless steel headers
CAI
I'm not touching the exhaust after the headers, i dont like loud exhausts.
(will add about 18hp at the crank)

Cosmetics & Others:
OEM Foglights
17" Acura TL OEM rims(with Honda caps)
TL anti-sway bar(direct bolt on)

Audio:
Replace 6x9's & door speakers
6 CD in-dash CD changer stays, but theres room under it to add my alpine mp3 HU and i can plug it into the AUX port of the stock stereo.
Maybe a small amp/sub setup in the trunk.

Of course, the timeframe of the list will probably be spread out over the course of the next year.. im taking it easy right now, mostly because of all the money i put down on this car plus my student loans repayments have just started.. i havent put any mods into the camry for like a year or so. ive just been saving up my money. i saved up $9 G's to put down on my new baby. to all of you guys that want a newer car, save up!

The TSX is to the Accord as the ES300 is to the Camry. They're similar.
The TSX does not have much in common with the North American Accord aside from the engine. The TL is the upscale version of the Accord; just as ES330 is the upscale Camry. The TSX is more of a replacement for the Integra sedan that was dropped when the RSX came out.

The TSX is smaller and is based on the top spec Japanese Honda Accord with the high output engine. The North American Accord is based on the Honda Inspire.

everywhere else the TSX is branded as the Accord except here in the states
but yes you're right in that aspect, the engines are similar except for the power upgrades on the TSX

Good luck on the Accord. We also have an 03 that we bought brand new. It's been a good car, my biggest gripe is that it doesn't have auto headlights. It's an EX for crying out loud!! My 98 Chevy S10 (base model) had auto headlights and didn't even have tilt steering!!

I've seen so many Honda drivers driving around without their headlights on when they should have because of those illuminescent gauges. That fact alone should require manufacturers to have auto headlights. "What they hell, I can see my gauges!"

yea im somewhat surprised theres no auto headlights either.. its an 03
but it doesnt bother me because im pretty self aware when it comes to the outside ambient lighting.. its like i have my own auto lighting system, my eyes & brain.
if it reaches that certain time of day, a little after dust, sometimes ill put the parking lights on and maybe 30 mins after that ill put the headlights on.. no biggie for me

but yes, some people do need them.. kind of like some of those idiots on the road that drive around with their blinkers on.. why dont they create a timer for the blinkers to auto neutralize after 60 seconds if going over 10 mph?
