I used to own a 1991 camry wagon V6. I had an extra set of eibach spings laying around that I took off the 1988 celica I owned. The springs were very rough and stiff on my celica. But when I put them on my camry they road great. Because of the extra weight the also lower the camry about .5 in more than they did on the celica.
Well I want to get some springs for my 1988 4 cyl. camry wagon I know own. Eibach only makes springs for the celica, I know they would fit, and I have the same engine in my wagon as what came in the celica. But the back would weight more, so I would have to do something for that. The other opion is the Intrax springs, the make them for the camry wagon with a 1.5" drop. They also make them for the celica with a 1.7" drop. I'm thinking about getting the Intrax made for the celica and puttin them on my wagon, I would think it would be a smoother ride since the celica was lighter than the wagon, and I will get more drop.
What do you think? Or should I not mess with all this and just get the Intrax made for my car?
celica has stiffer dampers which are harsher at lower heights, this is why the camry still feels smoother.
just get springs made for your car.

Thanks for the info on the stiffer dampers on the celica, that would make sense.
That combination may sound bad using celica spings on the camry wagon, but the fit great and the ride was great on my V6 wagon. This might have been luck, but it worked for that instance.
the gen2 camry and celica from teh same age share many components.

That's how Toyota does things which is cool. Basically a 88'-91' Camry engine in the 87'89 Celica's. Just like now how they put the 2.4L Camry engine in the Scion tC. Basic hotrodding! Take a family cruiser's engine and put in something sporty and a little lighter.
Did you, by chance, compare the struts between the Camry and Celica while you had them off the car? If so, how close were they (length, mounting points, etc) to each other?
