New toyota owner, needs help

Hey guys, first time car owner, first time toyota camry owner, a gift from my brother for graduation, one helluva gift huh?

She's a 1994 Toyota Camry xle, with the V6 3.0L 1 MZ-FE motor.

Now i need help modding her, i rev her up and i can just feel that she's waiting to be let go. I'm going for acceleration and handling, not so much top speed.

I've been looking at various mods the last few weeks, the first one i had my eye on is the various short air intakes they have for sale to replace the stock intake setup. They all claim to add 5 to 10 HP and increase fuel econamy, which makes sense, but now for the question. Short of beeing too small in diameter, the stock setup seems like its an attempt at a ram air setup, would i be better off modding the stock setup and adding a performance filter? or buying the short air intake?

I'm also planning on a body kit, new paint job, chrome trim peices, new shocks, lowering an inch or two, slotted brake rotors with ceramic brake pads, a racing chip, new exhuast set-up, and two low-profile hood scoops on a self-modded factory hood. also looking for new exhuast headers and cylinder heads.

I'm going for a classy, elegant look, but with the power to back it up, think of a sean connery james bond.

i could use any suggestions you have, as well as places to find performance parts.
also, i'm on a budget

Don't put a 'short ram' intake

If you want something that will give the 1MZ something with the intake, go for a custom cold air that pick-up the air in the fender

When you're used to the 1MZ/3VV, you feel the difference with the short ram... it makes the engine less powerfull at higher rpm.. the cold air is an other story..

For the suspension.. if you are not planning on getting too low and you want a good handling, try to get a set of TRD springs.. they only drop 1" but they are really stiff.. with a whiteline or trd sway bar you will feel like you're driving a real sport car

Go turbocharged. It will improve your acceleration allot.

I was looking at the TRD drop kit, those seem to fit in my price bracket and i've heard good things.

If i go for a source of mechanical forced air i'll likely pick the supercharger over the turbo, i'm worried more about initial low speed acceleration as opposed to possible top speed, everything i've read about turbos tells me that they only work well at higher speeds.

I was looking at the venom chip, i'm gonna do a little more research into it, but it may be one of my first major buys.

this in particular was the short air i was looking at, if i don't use that, how would you suggest i run the air intake?

uhm that aem intake is a cold air intake thats a good one to get what i thought you was talking about was an short ram intake which is not good to get so what you was talking about was a cold air intake from the start so thats good to get but not really sure about the aem one in particular but the design is what you should be looking for unless others have a better solution.

It all come down to how much money you are willing to spend because most of time you would have customize or fabricate the parts yourself.

Well turbocharging is fun, however for you, it would be ALL custom work. Not worth it for a car you will need everyday to be a reliable driver to work and/or school. A custom made CAI will help you out. You could also run an exhaust.. those v6's sound saweet through a properly put together setup.

You could also maybe look at some headers. I don't know of any ones that are made, but im sure a fabricator could make some up for you. Its all in how much $$$ you have..

And as for the venom chip.. Im not so sure that works very well. If it was worth buying in the means that it gave the 1mzfe some more power, it would be in signatures all over TN

Yeah, while the chip seems kinda shady, summit is generally pretty good about the products they sell. I'll do some more research into the chip.

http://www2.alldiscountautoparts.com...howdc=true#top

i finally found new exhaust manifolds, that and the AEM cold air intake will be my first mods, followed by changing up the suspension system, which with my limited know-how i won't be able to do myself.

do you guys think better fuel injectors / fuel pump will help me?

thanks so far
