4th Generation battery cable??

How hard is it to replace the positive battery cable? The end of mine where it connects to the battery is messed up to the point that I have to move it around until I'm able to start my car. 98 4 cyl.

I just replaced my terminals, which meant I needed to get some more slack in the wire. So do what I did: follow 2 wires (for my gen 3 it had one for the starter, one to the fusebox) and cut off the casing (plastic tubing and electrical tape) in order to gain more slack. I got at least 4 inches this way. Then just cut and strip the wires. If you go this route, you'll need new terminals, so thats 15 bucks for a gold plated one, 25 for both at autozone. good luck!

Check the stickies in the AV forum. There's one on extending stock battery wires. Pretty easy actually.
