Earlier today while driving, I accelerated hard a couple of times and the car reved up to about 3K and then then with a big jerk seemed to find its correct gear and began to accelerate. This happened a couple of times during the day and at times it seemed the jerk was pretty violent. Now the VSC, Skid and Engine malfunction lights are on continuously and am going to take it into the dealers tomorrow to see what is going on. I have hardly 1400 kms on the ODO and am a bit disappointed that this kind of problem has happened so soon. Anyone else with a sililar experience?
spent too much time rushing the camry, you forgot about the corolla and let it linger on for another year, while your new camry's filled with problems...
stupidity..
what was wrong with releasing it on schedule, anyway..?

Took it into the dealer this morning and they just phoned me this afternoon to say that they will be replacing the transmission completely, he could not tell me what the problem was with the original tranny. Does raise some niggling doubts about the build quality of the car.
^ Just a Q, is your car an American or Japan one? My guess is it's American. My local Toy dealership actually told me to buy the Japan one if you have a choice. It's sad when the dealer says that.

It is an American built car. But from what I have also read the KY facility which builds these Camrys have a higher quality rating than the Japanese plants. But that is a whole other story.

Does Toyota offer you to pay your car payment and give you free extended warranty? I heard toyota pays for your car payment when your car is the shop for transmission snap ring issue and 7 years/100K Toyota Platinum extended warranty ?? Hope they are treating you as nice as they treat the US 07 camry owners with transmission issue
They have not offered any payments nor are they extending the warranty. They have however given me a loaner and will be chaning out the tranny within two days, so I should have my car back by Thursday evening.
I guess you in theUS are a bigger market so you get better service. I might ask when I go to pick up my car though. Lets see what happens.
Well, Nicely...but FIRMLY tell them you want a full 7 year/ 100K warranty. Tell them that is what everyone else is getting... Print out some pages here and take them in....save them and use them as a trump card.

Looks like you are an another unfortunate member of the "Bad Transmission in your 2007 Camry" Club. Many of us are also members.
There is a humongous thread on this problem withover 500 posts in it already. Take a look if you dare...
Just skip past the first part and start reading at about page 10. Once you see the posts made on or after April 25, 2006, it gets much more interesting. That is where Toyota made their initial press release about the problem.
