Help Please! - Where do I drill a firewall hole in a camry?

Hey guys, new here.

I had a question regarding my 1994 Camry LE.

I plan on installing an amplifier myself and want to route the cables from the battery through the firewall into the car.

Where is the best location to put a hole to make sure I don't drill through any wires? Anyone have any tips?

Or is there a hole already there that exists, and I am just not seeing it?

Thanks for the help!

If you search on foglight wiring, you will find a lot of posts on where to route wires.

But to answer your question, when I installed my fogs, I routed the wires along with the car's wires that went through the wheel well from the top side and pulled the wires through the grommet from under the dash board. If you want to drill, there's a diamond shape plate for you to drill that's next to the grommet under the dash, but when you drill, it goes straight through to the other side of the firewall and does not go into the wheel well (better for direct access since you don't have to remove the plastic wheel well).

I know it's hard to imagine now, but I'll see if I have time for pix later.

Thanks guys. I'm still kind of confused though once that wire is through that hole, how to route it? Would i have to take the plastic pieces off on the foot panel and route it in between there?

route it down one side of the car, place it underneath the plastic coverings you see when you open the doors. Make sure you put any RCA cables down the other side of the car to avoid interference.

So... the wire goes in between the plastic coverings on the drivers side, but does it also get passed through to the backseat under plastic, or do I have to route the cable in the backseat somewhatr different from the front?

When you open any of the doors look down. You will see the plastic covering where the carpet stops ( carpet covering ). you will notice another vertical plastic covering on the B pillar where the first carpet covering joins on to. route the wire under the front carpet plastic covering, the B pillar and the rear carpet covering. It all is held down by clips, pulls out very easily.

Pull the back seat out (just pull the front upwards - only 3 clips that hold it down) and route the wiring under the seat to the trunk. put the seat and plastic coverings back on and you shouldn't be able to see wire anywhere.

PM me if you need more info
