I have the typical (for now) 195/70/14 steelies on the Camry, and they are getting really worn. I am looking for something a little more sporty but am staying for now with the steelies.
So, my question - ON a stock 96ish 14 inch rim, what are running for size?
I saw a 205/65/14 tire on a Gen 4 not too long ago. it was on a 14" OEM steel wheel. but i would just replace ur tires with new ones of the same size. u can't get too sporty while keeping the same wheel. just my 2 cents...
195/70/14 on a Gen 3 I4 if memory serves me. Your owners manual will say.
Yes, this is what is on there now....BUT....I am looking for the mean time that I have my steelies to get a little more outta my tires then OEM's.

If you really want performance and sportyness, grab some rims and wide rubber.
Well for now I am not putting money into rims. Gonna roll the steelies for alteast another season.
HOW wide WOULD a 205 be on a 14 inch rim? The size I think I am goign with is 195/60/14.

Well I am looking now into a set of Falken ZE-512 ZIEX 195/60R14 off Vulcantire.com.
Can't beat the $35.00 a tire, with shipping $180.00 total for four tires on my doorstep.
You can fit a 205/65 14 and keep your speedometer accurate. I wouldn't go any wider than that on a stock rim. I personally love my Yokohama Avid H4's both on my 18" summer wheels and 16" winter wheels. The only other brand I would look at would be Pirelli. Jon. p.s. 205 and 195 won't look that much different, with a 195/60 14 you're going to be increasing the mileage on your odometer by 6.2% vs. the actual distance you are traveling.

Yea, over all I have decided I am goign with the Falken ZE-512 ZIEX 195/60R14 and I will let ya know how they go...if ya want.

if u go with 195/60R14, the overall diameter will be much smaller. the odometer and speedometer will be thrown off (you'll see about a 4-5 MPH difference from ur reading compared to how fast ur actually going). sure, the profile (sidewall) will be shorter, but since the wheel will be smaller overall, the wheel well won't look as full. basically, you'll have more fender gap than stock.
195/60R14's belong on a small car like an older Honda Civic, not a bigger sedan like yours. heck, even the new Civics use OEM 15" wheels.
check out this tire calculator. given a chosen wheel size, it will show u the differences between any 2 tires u choose.
I've got 205/70/r 14s on mine. Hancooks from a goodyear shop

i forgot 2 ask, wut do u mean by sporty? like 'looking' sporty or having better performance? u can improve handling a little bit by getting a wider tire, 205 instead of 195. in turn, the sidewall must be shorter (70 to 65), so it will be a slightly stiffer ride.
u shuldnt go too small like 195/60. although the sidewall will be a lot smaller, the wheel will look kinda odd in the wheel well due to huge fender gap. unless ur going 4 the lowrider look
On the V6 we run larger wheels to accomodate our larger, more sexier brakes. The tire size on the 15' wheels is 205/65/15. Hope that answers your question.
If you try putting 14" wheels on your car and its a V6, they wont fit.
