3rd Generation Strange Sound

Hi
I purchased 1992 Camry few weeks ago. My mechanic changed whole mufler, catalytic converter, fuel lines and brake lines, just to get me safety.

When I am driving on highway, and push accelerater to speed up sometimes, I hear a strange sound.. looks like engine is being forced a bit to drive. (I was expecting totally soundless drive as the whole mufler and catalytic converter is new)

What do you guys suggest? Is everything ok with timing belt? I dont think it should be the case, as my odometer is 203000 KM (not miles) timing belt should have changed once at around 125000.

There are ways around it, remapping the microsoft servers, stopping the service, using a firewall. But what I personally do is close my curtains, wrap my computer in tin foil and yell "BRING IT ON" over and over again. -Drunken_panda

Maybe the muffler or cat is the wrong one and too restricitive? Or Maybe they even put the muffler or the cat in backwards? And its causing back pressure.
Feel your exhaust pulse just for the heck of it, if it feels weak maybe something changed when he put the new parts.

to be more specific, it is a smooth sound from engine most probably, but I wasn't expecting it , as it has whole new fuel lines and exhaust pipe.

How can I feel the exhause pulse? is there any spacific method of doing that?

Oh.. That is additional stuff to buy. Can't think about buying it unless I know how much useful it would be and how much money can it save me in future.

One more problem. with the fix, Canadian tire did, my car act bumpy, when I make a turn and speed it right away. Seem like insufficient fuel delievery. I can't expect that from a camry. What do you guys think?
