Elegant gave me a hand when I routed my power wire through the stock holes. Basically, there's a harness that goes into the side of the car on the driver's side...just right behind the strut in the engine bay. You can push your power wire through there...then you have to take off your wheel well guards and feed the wire through another stock hole that comes out on the left side in the car.

I was too lazy to feed it through that second harness so I fed the power wire through the underpart of the door frame, lifted my carpet inside, and then drilled a hole to get the power wire out. It's hard to explain without pictures. It was clean but the wire weaves around more than necessary.

Honestly, I didn't like that setup so when I redid my system for like the 4th time, I just drilled a hole in the firewall. I think it's best to have the shortest possible distance to the amp. Just get a power drill, some drill bits that can through steel, maybe a dremel, and you're all set.

Do it once, and do it right!

yeah... I have that same setup right now. My power wire is fed through the door because i was afraid to drill throught the firewall. i was afraid i would drill through something important, ie. brake lines, power lines, gas lines, etc... "call before you dig." But honestly, when i get my new sub, i'll be drilling right through that thing!

I had heard of someone running it through the steering wheel entrance, i dont know the real name, and I was wondering if that was safe? Also, for all the GEn3 Camry owners what length of power wire and RCA wire will be sufficient, I took some rough measurements and it looked like I'll need 17 ft of RCA but does that mean I'm gonna need twenty feet of power wire?

20 feet will be more than enough. That's how much I got and I had about 3 of slack left over.

Remove the front driver side tire and fender liner.

You'll see a big orange grommet on the firewall with a bundle of wires going through it. You can run the power wire through it.

Is there enough room under the door trim to run 4 Gauge to the trunk?

Easy and best way is to run the cable through the steering column grommet. Cut a small slit in the steering wheel, feed the wire through and run it along the side of the seats under the plastic trim. That is how I ran mine. I am using 4 gauge wire.

I ran my fog lights through the wheel well grommet and trust me that is a lot more work, you get dirty and the wire is longer than need be. When running power cables, the shorter the better.

Does anybody know how to easily remove the clips that are holding the fender liner? I once saw a guy do it and he was yanking them out with a pliers. That didn't look like the proper way to do it.

Can anybody help me out? What's the proper way?

the best way to run the cable is from the passenger side under the hood....Look for this area the should be directly behind the glove compartment, but it is under the hood, slide the power cable behind the rubber boot, and the power cable will come out from under the glove compartment, no cutting needed,, if you need pictures. i'll see if i can take some....
