Ok so i'm not one to have random pieces of metal sticking out all over the place on my vehicle, SO...I took out the antenna, the motor is still in the trunk, i'll get to that tommorow, now i'm left with a nice quarter sized hole, is Bondo still the way to take care of these kind of things or are we rocking some new stuff nowadays that I don't know about?

ah i think welding a peice in and bondoing over it would look pretty good. best way i know of to shave things. but the mismatch in the paint will b odd so itd have to b painted to be completely smooth of course... i dunno abt rocking a rubber grommet or somethin on the car. wouldnt really be far from an antenna imo.

Yeah a rubber grommet would pretty be almost as much of an eyesore, i'm thinking about getting some skirts if I can find some decent looking ones and then put a fresh coat of white or possibly a deep blue on the old goat, i've also got some holes in the passenger side doors where some dents were popped out from the original owner, i'm still debating on whether or not I should go through the hassle of dealing with the holes or just getting new doors....
well if they arent huge holes and the rest of the door is smooth then id say just fix them. wouldnt b too hard and your already going to b doing it with the antenna. if the door is still all screwed up itd prob b more worth your trouble to just replace it. i have to replace a door (again) because my car is going through some body work right now to try to get her smooth again. goodluck with the car man.

Hey
I did that with my 88 camry. Infact I purchased my socket ranch kit to remove the nesty screws around my antina motor. It took me quite a while to first figure out what nut I do need to remove and then how to remove the whole thing. You would need to remove the wire harness around them too, that is a simple task.
I hope this help. You need a socket ranch set to avoid any damage to the body. And it is really worth having it. and have a lubricant too.
If your going to be doing body work anyway, then fix the hole. My thoughts were not to damage the paint to fill a hole. Commercial radio installers fill holes in cars all the time with rubber plugs when removing radios.
I would make a steel plug and weld it in. Then grind off excess weld. Use a TIG or MIG do avoid excess heat and warpage. The hole is too large for Bondo without some kind of backing.
I was thinking about welding a small plate underneath the hole then putting some bondo on it on the outside, as for the hole in the doors well....there's alot of them, not just one or two...anyone mind telling me what a door skin is??
door skin is the sheet metal outer part of the door. definately not worth the effort to change it when u can just get another one. plus ur gonna paint the car anyway right? why not take 30 min to just install a new door and then paint it. much easier dude.

Yeah that's pretty much where i'm at, now all I need to do is find a pair of passenger doors, I need to redo the interior to...it's warped, cracked, and split in so many places...
