probably once in a great while, i have a lot of control over when the car shifts with my auto, so i usually let off at about 5300 to let the trans shift if im up that high for anyreason... which isnt terribly often. I dont like letting it get up to 6 grand, you can see the gas gauge going down when its that high
5500 RPM is about as high as I take it, and revving it any higher seems a moot point. It's past the peak HP point and all it does it make more noise. Even that speed, I've only taken it up twice in the last 4 years.
My old Camry ('88 with 3S-FE engine) was the same, anything beyond aout 5500 RPM was just noise.
