The Plot Thickens!
Since it was such a beautiful day outside today, I decided to finish working on my wiper/washer system. The wipers are now working again, the motor and wiper link hookup was successful.
Because of my recent success with the wipers themselves, I decided to try fixing the washer system. I always thought the motor was bad because it never ran when the button was pressed, so I removed the motor from the resivoir and hooked it up directely to a six volt battery. The motor runs fine and pumps water like a champ. New problem!!! With a multi-meter i tested the wiring that connects the wiper button to the relay behind the kick panel, that wiring checked out. When I tested the wiring between the harness/relays and the motor itself, it didn't give me a reading at all.
The problem lies between the motor and the wiring harness, but I havn't a clue what to do. Obviously the wiring is faulty, but replacing it will be a pain.
Any tips or experience with this???
My Uncle's friend is head of the service department at a toyota dealership, so i will be talking to him, but he will probably tell me they have to fix it and it will cost me big time.
Any help, advice, or tips???
Thank you!!!
