What type of Radar Detector do u have?

Hey everyone, I am wondering what kind of radar detector do you use? I no we all have stomped on the gas gas b-cause their is a slower traffic ,a big truck or something in the way and you just wanted to go to your destination. Especially on the highway, and alot of state troopers or cops, had the radar gun pointed right at cha. Oh yea tell if you got a speeding ticket with te radar detector on and you said you PO..S radar detector.

Please tell me what model you use?
Does it work good, and detects the radar?

Here is my Radar detector that I use now.
As you know their are pro's and cons of a radar detector.
This is my fault for going cheap..

Pros:
360 detection. Thats about it 4 me

Cons:
Doesn't detect 4 enough as in ft. Dont no either.
I bought this thing a fews months back, and It when you push the mute button it usuallay says mute on or off. It doesnt do that no more just beeps. Once for mute on, and 2 beeps for mute off.
Its pretty big and slides around the little cubby where the ash tray, or as I use as my penny tray. I hate putting the on the windsheild has the to dots on the windsheild. U guys no what I mean.

(Cobra)XRS_9400 Radar Detector: Here are some of my pics. And a video of proof that its not worth it. Atleast for me. Sorry if you have this radar detector not affending anyone.

Hey, I have a Beltronics Pro RX65. It works pretty good and have detected many cops on the highway. I would suggest u get a Passport X50. Although it's similar, I think it's slightly better. My friend had a cobra 9700 in the past and it didn't work that great either, cus when we drove together I was able to detect some cops that he missed.

I am going to try the PNI Silver Bullet Travler II. I returned the Cobra to Sam's Club, it stopped detecting some K bands with in a couple of hundered feet! If this doesn't work I am going big and getting the top of the line Bell or Escort. This is a good objective site http://www.radarbusters.com/. If you speed alot, which none of should do, spend $300 USD and get the goods, all others seem a bit flakey. Tickets in Colorado are cheap < $100, but my insurance just went up $200 a year even after I plea bargained down to a lesser charge because of having any moving violation!

the beltronics rx55 and rx65 are both great.
never buy a cobra, they suck.

beltronics passport x50 is arguably one of the best detectors out there.
its only competition i the valentine 1.

I have a whistler 1640. its saved me a few times. no i have never gotten a ticket, nor pulled over. its pretty good considering i bought it for $60 new. the rx55 kicks its ass though.

Dang I hate this thing. I am going to do some research, maybe alot of reasearch. The cobra gives me false alerts also. Hey if I dont like it the radar detector I can always get my money back, just gotta keep the reciepts. Good old 30 day back warranty. I will post some pics and a video clip or so. Around 5:00p.m. Eastern time.

After watching the video the escort or the Bel Rx-65. It would be nice to see blue instead of red. Give the inside of my car a better look at night.

Ok, this is the detector I am going to get.

The Beltronic Vetor 965. Similar to the model rx-65 but this is the only one I can find in my area. Im going to the store I'll be back 2 give you guys my 2 cents.

As far as radar detectors go, it's pretty much between the Valentine V1 and the Escort Passport X50. I've never bothered to go out and buy a radar detector because I've found it's not worth my money as long as I keep my speeds reasonable, even in the most open areas of the road. To date, I've been ticketed once for speeding, and it was a pretty bogus ticket anyways towards the last day of a month. These days though, the question is becoming less of "what kind of radar detector do you have" and more of "what kind of laser jamming system do you have".

I believe mine is a Bel 930. I like the 1-9 threat meter. But, it is showing it's age.

I have the Beltronics Pro RX65.
It does catch some stuff and it has saved me a few times.
Ka is the "Oh Shit, brake" while X and K are always supermarkets, etc.
"POP" usually is someone else's radar detector.
"Laser" has only correctly worked a few times (I have mine mounted high).

There are two instances when I have seen cops pointing their hand held something or other at me and I did not get any warning. So I know this expensive talking box is not 100%.

With today's insurance scam, one ticket is a ticket too many.
Anything to stay ahead of the game.

Iwas kind of curious if these things are firmware upgradeable.

Im running the Escort 8500 X50 Blue...lovin it.
its saved me enough times to pay itself off, but laser will own you if your tagged....once got lased doing 70 in a 50 zone, thought i was screw when the cop followed me, but was going after the african american fellow in the tinted chromed out gmc envoy that blew past me at 90....poor guy, lol

other than Laser, this radar has great Ka detection, and decent features. only gripe is the false alarms, and its a tad pricey

If I wasn't in Virginia where they are illegal, I would have a Valentine One (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

Since living here, I have found I like not having one. I have become much better at spotting radar traps.

1. As with almost anything you buy, you do get what you pay for. You get a 50 dollar wally mart detector, it probably will be a paperweight.

2. Some say that detectors are a waste of money. OK, given that you do the speed limit all the time, I guess it is. But seriously, do people do the speed limit ALL THE TIME? If the speed limit is 45, and it suddenly drops to 25 at a school zone, how many people actually hit their brakes and decel to 25 within a couple feet? Depending on the location, people just decrease their speed a bit and cruise through at 35~40, or not decel at all. Are these people ignoring the law? Maybe........ Tell me that you always slow down to the limit when the speed limit goes down. I slow down to 25, and people keep passing me left and right.

The point is, there is no such person who will do the speed limit ALL OF THE TIME. For those times. Many times, you just miss the sign and keep driving. For those times, I think radar detectors are a good investment.
