2nd Generation Cornering Light Install + pics

Well I got the cornering light installed this weekend, also spent a good portion of the early morning and mid evening to give the car a good wash n wax. The only bad thing is I just found out that my cornering lights don't work, I checked the bulbs and they are ok, the rear parking lights work so that means the fuse isn't out, so i'm looking at a wiring issue...which sucks...of course..so I guess my next project after my seatbelt conversion is to find the fault in the wiring and well fix it..then I plan on changing my cornering lights to turn signals and replace the original turn signals with fog lights, well here she is fellas, sorry if the pictures are to large....

Need a new valence..

Gotta do something about these holes..

Gotta do something with this antenna hole..

New Cornering Light..

I Jimmy rigged that bar and a piece of rubber to hold the battery in place..

Need to replace weather stripping..

Need to do something about the interior..

Gotta do something about this dent...

I've gotta do something about this, can't see my damned speedometer....

This is the culprit that inspired me to take out my automatic seat belts...

Cheap stereo system, works good though..

The A/C was trying to knock out my engine at the idle so I needed to make the engine idle higher, there was also a lot of play in my gas pedal so I took the slack out of the throttle cable.

That's all for now folks...

The holes were when he had those terrible dents pulled out. Should have just removed the interior and PUSHED them out. Unless you already tried that and the metal just wouldn't budge. As for him not being able to see the speedo, I think thats cuz HES too tall? Dunno.

Well the steering wheel won't lock in the raised position, i'm only 5'9" but I sit correctly? Yeah I didn't have the sar when those holes were punched into the side of the door to pop the dents...I still get pissed off whenever I think about having to get new doors....or door skins...whoever had this car before me really didn't take care of it at all...bought it from a mechanic and he didn't even take care of it.....#4 spark plug had a huge ass crack in it so I had to get that replaced, there's an exhause leak in there somewhere....who knows...

The doors can be saved. Thats why the dents were pulled out in the first place. The rest can be fixed with Body filler and painted over. If done right, it can look almost new. Determine where the exhaust leak is coming from and if u have a friend who welds, get him to help you. If its somewhere on straight pipe, they sell a wrap thats kinda like High heat duct tape that can be used as a temporary fix. Easy to do yourself. Believe it or not, at that time the Japanese cars weren't really well designed for "American-Sized" people so your actually a little too tall for your car. lol

Sell it?? What sick planet do you come from?! for a 19 year old car with 221,000 miles on it i'd say she's in some pretty decent shape, just cuz she's old and i'm a little tall for her doesn't mean i should get rid of it. Just needs some luffin that's all....

After I replaced the #4 plug and adjusted the idle/throttle cable she runs like a charm, There's alot of small and somewhat large things that still needs to be done, but hey for 1500 bucks I got what I paid for.

There are two handles down there to adjust the steering wheel. Figure out how they work, and your steering wheel will stay where you put it.

Pull on the farther handle from you to pop it up.

Squeze the two together to set the 'down' position.

It works like that to allow you to move the steering wheel out of the way easily and pop it back to the right position later by just pushing the wheel back down.

Disregard if you have a base model - your steering wheel should be almost all the way 'up' and locked in a decent position for tall people.

I know about the adjustent levers but if I adjust them to the point to where I can see the speedometer it's like driving a bus, I don't know about you but that is in no way comfortable and is somewhat obscuring my view through the windshield, so...that being said i'll be taking some step here in the near future to adjust the gauge angle, it's alright for now it's not a big deal, I can for the most part tell when i'm going to fast or to slow...

and yes there is alot of work to do, but i'm lovin it so it's good
