USA Questions about Lucas Oil Products!

I was in my local Autozone this morning and I picked up a brochure about Lucas Oil Products and I had a couple questions:

1st: I just (today) changed my oil to Mobil 1 Synthetic, shoud I Lucas' Synthetic Oil Stabilizer? What does it do? Is there any benefit?

2nd: I saw they have an Octane Booster, what does that do? I know that I dont have any pinging from a low octane but could it boost my acceleration and such?

Thanks!

Dunno about stabilizers and how they work but as far as the octane boost, you don't need it if you aren't knocking or pinging. You wouldn't benefit it because you'd have to adjust your timing and ignition system to work with the higher octane or you'd just have the engine caking carbon on your valves.

To me, Mobil 1 is the best oil you can buy, so you dont need any Lucas product. I have seen the sales literature too about how wonderful these products are supposed to be for your engine. But every non-biased test of this additive i have seen, (Bobistheoilguy.com)has been inconclusive.
So unless your engine has problems with oil consumption or blowby, there is no reason to add this stuff. It might have some utility but IMO only for engines with wear problems, where the owner is just trying to coax some more life out of it before it conks out. And if your engine is in this shape, i doubt you'd want to put Mobil 1 in it anyway (i wouldn't).
