3rd Generation Trunk Lock

Hey guys, my finish or center panel is broken and i wanted to replace it. However, will I be able to remove the lock that I have in the center panel on my car and put it in the new one? I have a 1996 Camry LE.

3rd Generation

You shouldn't have to remove the lock mechanism. It just slides out of/into the panel. When you take it off you'll see what I mean.

There is a couple of 8mm nuts to remove

Then you pop the center panel out.. the lock is in the trunk, no needs to do anything with it

isnt it a 10mm deep? what i do before installing a new center panel is to ALWAYS take a dremel tool and cut off wheel and cut off the straight section of the bolt, so all thats left is the threads. it makes it a lot easier to work with if it has to come off again.

i just dont remember... lol. i know, you can basically take the car apart with a 10, 12, and 14. 8 for the really small stuff, and 17 for the bigger stuff. dont forget the prybar and big ass hammer... my #2 and #3 favorite tools, behind my #1 14mm deep socket.

sorry to get totally off topic here.
