4th Generation Starting Problems Arrggggg.....

I'll try to explain this in as much detail as I possible can. About 3 months ago my cam sat in a garage while getting worked on and was not started/ran for a month. Recently about a month ago ive been having start up issues. I will turn the key enough to put the headlights/radio on and the dash lights dim really bad. As soon as i begin to try and start the car, the dash lights dim even more and the car will try to start (sometimes everything goes dead and i have no power, ill have to take the key out and try it again). Usually theres a loud clicking sound(the starter) but will have a lot of trouble turning over if it does at all. Ive had the battery tested(checked out fine), alternator tested(checked out fine). Could this be a bad ground wire or connection somewhere??? Maybe a bad fuse??? I dont think its the starter cause it tries to click over but i could be wrong. It is almost like theres not enough power to turn over the car or the electrical current is not flowing very well ...Ive tried to read the haynes book to check out the possible problems but i still cant find a solution. Please help guys my cam has been down for a while now.....

is it possible that one of the contacts could have become corroded or lose a tight connection after sitting in the garage for a while??

If you hear one click, then it's a problem with the contacts inside the starter's solenoid. If that's the case, do a search for "starter contacts" and read up.

If you hear multiple rapid clicks, then that a problem with the battery, alternator, alternator belt being too loose, or corroded connections at the battery terminals.

Which one is it?

Its definitly rapid clicks, Ive had the battery and alternator tested and the mechanics said they were fine. Ill use a wire brush to clean the terminals but they look fine. All these problems happened after my car sat for a month.

After you hear the rapid clicks it will sometimes turn over and start. The dash lights dim really badly when i turn the key to start the car.
