Three provinces do not prohibit radar detectors. They are British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. All the rest (including the territories) do prohibit radar detectors. The police will confiscate radar detectors, whether in use or not, and may impose fines up to $1000.

There's also such thing as a radar detetctor detector detector. The cycle will endlessly repeat itself, I'm afraid.

On 60km/h, I drove 70km/h on HWY7(Queen st)and got ticket for $25 + 15 surcharge = $40. Bad luck, I thought that this cop did not make money that night so he caught me because I saw nobody in the street. I think that Radar detector cannot be used too. Be careful, MAXIMUM, do not cross over.

Wait a minute Camry005man...

I dont think you would be actually driving 70 on a 60 road, otherwise he would never give you ticket. You must be over 80, and he wrote it 70, just to save you some charge.

Radar detector detectors basically work exactly like Radar detectors they can't pick you out of crowd unless they get right behind you. If you planned on speeding down a road at night all alone well then they would probably pull you over anyway just based on the visual speed.
