4th Generation tinted tails

wadya think guys? ? or ? tell you one thing thats obvious...my web cam suks... and this looks much beter in real

EDIT: TRIED NIGHT PIK WITH MY WEBBY-CAMY-PIECE-OF-SHITTY. MADE THE THING LOOK SO DIFFERENT FROM WHAT IT IS. THE TINTED AREA NOW LOOKS LIGHT BLUE, (KINDA COOL): BUT IT IS ACTUALLY RED. DARKER RICHER RED THNX TO THE TINT. MAKES IT LOOK NICE.

hey i finished tinting the outer tail light as wel!! skipped around the reflector to make sure its exposed, and thus do its job. leaving the side light without tint coz i think i need that to be as bright as it can.just one layer so it looks black at daytime and hardly makes a difference at night, the double layer on the center piece is still looking good and now it seems more...complete...to me at least.:

when the brakes are applied:

OK !!! so now that its complete what you guys think!!! ( p.s. : i worked my ass off in 36 degrees heat outside, no bad reviews plz!! :-p just kiddin. be honest!)

It's interesting. But kinda of strange because you only tinted one section. Plus, you are loosing a lot of light by tinting it. For me, the brighter the better haha.

my dad wants the back light reflector exposed . and if i just tint the whole thing with the reflectors exposed, it looks awe some. but when u hit the brakes , light seeps through the reflector, making it look incomplete. hence im gonna have to leave it like this for now. actually at night it only seems to have lowered the light intensity a little, but the lights that become brighter when brake is pressed are not covered so even the safety issue is taken care of if i really get some ideas later on for the front headlights i will do them too. but those pointy things are really making it hard to make a decent tint possible.

leasaunce vbmenu_register("postmenu_1311516", true); : im not good at tinting yet, so i'll try to get the measure ments of the inner parts on paper and then cut outlines on the tint.( thts how i did the current ones, i cant stay outside and cut coz its summer here at it gets close to 40 degrees outside.) once i think i got it i will put them on and post.

thnx for you r input guys

I'm all for DIY, but for tinting tails, I would leave it for the experts (Personally I would screw it up royally).

Jonboy (of VW circles) is the man. Check out www.jonstintedtails.com

i think i will keep mine they way it is , coz i just triedd to tint the whole of the inside part of the tail loight and it didnt look good , made it look retarded. plus at night the tint is almost unnoticable beacuse the light from inside is so bright..people dont realise its tinted, but daytime its pretty obvious. im thinking of putting another layer on top... 200% tint in total . lets see how that works at night.

@ wireless: they dont have toyota tinted tail lights in the site.AND i cant send them my tails from the middle east. guess its DIY then.

Or you could buy a set of replacements and have htem tinted and shipped to you. Jon is very easy going and will work with you to make it happen.

@wireless: yes i could do that... but im guessing its COST me big time! you may have noticed all i did was use some 3 dollar 100 % tint , blade , measuring tape ,and some soap water. not much pennies spent, but you get a similar look , without the immaculate finish that Mr. Jon would give, plus im guessing his work is permanent, i will have to redo this every two-3 years given the heat this place has.

@redphoenix: nice wheels! on topic: its pretty bright at night even with one layer of tint on, so much so its like i havent done squat to it. so im putting another layer!

@dna59: yes , actual tint, no spray ( how would that work exactly? )
