Camrys are non-interference engines. Braking the timing belt should only hurt your pride, not your engine. Put in a new belt and you should be back on the road. While they're in there have them replace any wear items. I will be skeptical, however, and point out that if you didn't do the required maintenance on the timing belt replacement(s) then what else needs to be maintained?? Go to your owner's manual and go through the maintenance schedule and make sure that you're up to date. This may not be anything that you need to do today but certainly in the next couple of months.

Are you really sure Kep that you are saying right? Doesn't it break all the pistons, and order of cam and crank movements? (Mine is 92 camry, and I am thinking of replacing the belt within a month)

no

It's called a non interferance engine. I spent all day finding this out. The pistons don't get high enough to hit the valves. But thanks for scaring me and ruining most of my day.

Broken valves?! GAH@ I had this actually happen to me, on my 1988 Nissan pickup Z24 engine. I was trying to remove the crank pulley bolt, to change the timing chain, with a breaker bar and i made the chain skip time. And i did mash the valves and had to do a valve job for $400. But like Kep said, you in all probability dont have this problem because of the magic- words non-interference engine.
So just put the new belt, and the water pump too if you are going to be keeping this car for a long time. Also the idlers too and maybe the cam seals and crank seal too while everything is apart. I know it sounds a long list but if you are planning to drive it into the ground, maybe it is a good idea.

Keep track of your milage when you install the new belt and just remember to change it out again in about 60,000 miles. Timing belts don't like oil or water so make sure that the compartment is clean with no leaks.
