Too Much Brake Fluid

I had overflowed the brake fluid because I was in a rush. Is there any way of extracting the excess brake fluid without having to do anything major?

A kitchen baster works great. (Big plastic tube with a squeeze bulb on top) You can find them at dollar stores and add a piece of plastic tubing to the end if you need it.

Kep's idea is a good one, but you can also do this yourself with just a drinking straw. No, you don't suck the stuff out with your mouth; that may be fatal. Just dip the straw in to the brake master cylinder. Now put your finger over the top end of the straw. Remove the straw and then remove your finger when it is over something to catch the little bit of fluid that will come out. Just repeat the procedure until the fluid is at the proper level. This will be slower than using a turkey baster or some other vacuum device, but it will work and most people have a drinking straw somewhere. Be careful not to get any of the brake fluid on the paint. If you do, wipe it off quickly. Brake fluid is an excellent paint remover.

You can also try a stringe. There pretty cheap at the drug store. Like the post above, you do not want to get the brake fluid on any painted parts.

If you have an old dispenser bottle, ie from liquid soap, you can use that to pump the fluid out. Be sure that it's clean and dry. You want to avoid getting water in the brake fluid.

Ok that's a great idea! This is how everyone learned from others.
